Raynard Cummings and his partner in crime, Kenneth Gay, were convicted of fatally shooting Verna, a father of two young boys, six times during a traffic stop in Lake View Terrace. Prosecutors said Cummings fired the first shot, then passed the gun to Gay, who fired five more to avoid arrest for a series of violent San Fernando Valley robberies.
