Jeremy Shaw, 43, was ordered to serve at least 548 months, or 45 years, in prison, a term at the higher end of sentencing guidelines based on requests from King County prosecutors.

Shaw was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Stephen Morphis, 67, following a jury trial that lasted for six weeks and concluded at the end of April, a spokesman for the prosecutors' office said.
